The 15-Day Epic Gorilla and Migration Safari Across East Africa is a once-in-a-lifetime journey combining the continent’s most extraordinary wildlife experiences. This adventure takes you from the misty rainforests of Uganda for mountain gorilla trekking, through the classic savannahs of Kenya’s Masai Mara, and into the vast plains of Tanzania’s Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. You will track primates in ancient forests, witness the drama of the Great Wildebeest Migration (seasonal), and encounter the Big Five across some of Africa’s most iconic landscapes — all in one seamless, unforgettable safari.

Tour Plan

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe, Uganda

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by your safari guide and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may relax or take an optional visit to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens or Lake Victoria shoreline.

Overnight in Entebbe.


Day 2: Entebbe to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, depart for Kibale Forest National Park, known as East Africa’s primate capital. The scenic drive takes you through lush countryside, tea plantations, and crater lake regions.

Arrive in the afternoon and check in at your lodge. Optional evening visit to Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for birds and monkeys. Dinner and overnight near Kibale.


Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest. Trek through the rainforest with experienced rangers to observe habituated chimpanzees and other primates.

After lunch, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight in or near the park.


Day 4: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Begin the day with an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, where you may see lions, elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes.

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, famous for hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and abundant birdlife. Overnight in Queen Elizabeth National Park.


Day 5: Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, drive through the scenic Ishasha sector, known for tree-climbing lions (seasonal sightings). Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s mountain gorillas.

Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon and relax as you prepare for your gorilla trek. Overnight in Bwindi.


Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest

After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for briefing before starting your gorilla trekking adventure. Trek through dense rainforest with rangers to find a habituated gorilla family.

Once located, spend one unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for relaxation or an optional Batwa cultural visit. Overnight in Bwindi.


Day 7: Fly from Kihihi/Entebbe to Nairobi, Kenya

Transfer to the nearest airstrip for a domestic flight to Entebbe (if required), then connect on a regional flight to Nairobi, Kenya. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel.

Evening at leisure. Overnight in Nairobi.


Day 8: Fly Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, transfer to Wilson Airport for your flight to the Masai Mara. Upon arrival, enjoy a game drive en route to your lodge or luxury tented camp.

Afternoon game drive in one of Africa’s most wildlife-rich reserves. Overnight in Masai Mara.


Day 9: Full Day in Masai Mara – Great Migration (Seasonal)

Spend a full day exploring the Masai Mara. Between July and October, you may witness the Great Migration river crossings along the Mara River. Year-round, the Mara offers superb sightings of lions, cheetahs, elephants, and more.

Picnic lunch in the bush and overnight at your camp.


Day 10: Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park (via Isebania Border)

After breakfast, drive to the Isebania border and cross into Tanzania. Meet your Tanzanian guide and continue into Serengeti National Park with a game drive en route to your camp.

Overnight in Serengeti.


Day 11: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Enjoy a full day of game drives in the Serengeti’s endless plains. Depending on the season, you may follow the migration herds or focus on resident wildlife including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and giraffes.

Overnight in Serengeti.


Day 12: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After a morning game drive, depart Serengeti and travel toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy wildlife viewing along the way as the landscape transitions from plains to highlands.

Dinner and overnight at a lodge on or near the Ngorongoro Crater rim.


Day 13: Ngorongoro Crater Safari

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most spectacular wildlife destinations. The crater floor hosts lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, flamingos, and the endangered black rhino.

Enjoy a picnic lunch near a hippo pool before ascending back to the rim. Overnight in the Ngorongoro Highlands or Karatu.


Day 14: Ngorongoro to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for giant baobab trees and large elephant herds. Enjoy an afternoon game drive along the Tarangire River, a magnet for wildlife.

Dinner and overnight in or near Tarangire.


Day 15: Tarangire to Arusha – Departure

After a relaxed breakfast or short morning game drive, drive to Arusha. Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy lunch or last-minute shopping before your transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for departure.
